Overview

D. Pharm. is a diploma level course for candidates who wish to study pharmacy and begin a career in the medicine field. Pharmacy is a medical field which involves preparing, dispensing and appropriate use of medication meant for various treatment purposes. After completing the D.Pharmacy course, candidates are eligible to become registered pharmacists in India. D. Pharma is a two years long diploma programme. Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) is the regulatory body of pharmacy education in India.

D. Pharma can only be offered by colleges and institutes which are approved by the pharmacy council of India (PCI) under sub-section 1 of Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948. There is no specialisation in D Pharmacy and this course only provides candidates with the basic concepts of pharmaceutical science. D Pharmacy helps students with the necessary knowledge and skill to gain a position at the entry level in pharmaceutical companies.

12th Pass students are eligible to apply for D. Pharmacy courses.
Candidates’s age should be 17 or above
It is mandatory for candidates to have a science stream in class 12 in order to be eligible to pursue diploma course in pharmacy.
Candidates must have qualified 12th with PCM/ PCB with a minimum 50 per cent to get enrolled in the diploma course of pharmacy.
