Pharmaceutics is the branch of pharmacy that focuses on the process of designing, preparing, and delivering pharmaceutical drugs in a way that maximizes their therapeutic effect. It involves the study of the physical and chemical properties of drugs, dosage forms, and how drugs are absorbed, distributed, metabolized, and excreted by the body (pharmacokinetics). It also encompasses the formulation of drugs into different dosage forms, such as tablets, capsules, creams, injectables, and more.
Department of Pharmaceutics contributes in teaching undergraduate & Diploma programs (B.Pharm and D.Pharm) with the aim to provide high quality education and training ensuring their strong foundation in the principle and practices of pharmaceutics. The focus areas are formulation and development of drug delivery system, study of dosages and the action of drug in the body. Students are also imparted with the knowledge of basic and applied pharmaceutical investigations and pharmaceutical skills.
